Anointing of the Sick

Anointing of the Sick

Through the anointing of the sick, the Church commends to the suffering and glorified Lord the faithful who are seriously ill, so that they may be relieved of their suffering and be saved.

"Those who have the care of souls and those who are close to the sick are to see to it that the sick are consoled by the sacrament of anointing at the appropriate time." (Canon 1001)

Due to the current government restrictions, Baptisms/Weddings/Anointing of the Sick have been suspended until further notice. Please do not hesitate to contact the parish office if you have any queries 9412 8493.

Our priests visit two Nursing homes for catholic service once a month in Whittlesea. The holy communion and anointing of the sick are provided for the residents over there. It is a great comfort for the people who can’t go to the church for the service.

NURSING HOMES

4th Thursday of every month at Whittlesea Lodge @ 11.00am.

Apart from that, some of our dedicated volunteers also help priests to take communion to the sick who are house bound as well as in the Nursing homes.

*We encourage parishioners to contact the parish office for the house bound sick people those who would like to receive the holy communion and the anointing of the sick.

Please contact the parish office for further information.
